  • ATHICA: Athens Institute for Contemporary Art is pleased to present its first exhibit of the season, Iconoclasts: 6 Athens-Based Artists, curated by ATHICA Director, Lizzie Zucker Saltz. The exhibit, which runs from September 19–October 26, 2003, features passionate, quirky and often psychologically intense and autobiographical artworks by Cal Clements, Lawrence Forte, Jeff Owens, Sunny Taylor, Paul Thomas and the Reverend C. Keen Zero. ATHICA's first exhibit of all Athens-based artists showcases a group that has been making a significant impact on the Athens' scene for a half a decade or more. Each artist exemplifies an out-of-the-mainstream, iconoclastic approach that reaffirms our town's reputation as a place where independent visions are nurtured.
